Our Brewery Tours

***Brewery Tours beginning in Bryson City and Sylva are currently on hold due to COVID-19. When the crisis passes and breweries again open for business, we'll begin brewery tours.***

About Our Brewery Tours

Beer Treks brewery tours are not just your typical beer drinking tours but an experience and journey into the fabulous world of beer. A certified beer expert, certified through the internationally recognized Cicerone Certification Program, which is the beer world’s equivalent to the Sommelier program for wine, leads each tour. The tours take you behind the scenes of the beer making process, teach you how to critically taste beer and learn why you
prefer some beers over others, tell the story behind each brewery, and give you insight into the history of Western North Carolina beer. As you walk from one brewery to another along the charming streets of Bryson City and Sylva, NC, you’ll also learn about their fascinating history and see why the relaxed atmosphere of mountain town life is so appealing.

  • All brewery tours must be booked in advance via this website or by calling 828-506-4943.

  • Brewery tour drinkers MUST be 21 years of age or older and show a valid photo ID prior to the tour departing. Non-drinkers or designated drivers are welcome on the tour at a discounted ticket price. NOTE: NO REFUNDS WILL BE GIVEN FOR LACK OF PROPER IDENTIFICATION. Consuming, purchasing, or selling alcoholic beverages to anyone under the age of 21 is against the law in North Carolina. Beer Treks, LLC and the great breweries on the tour cannot take the risk of serving someone that does not meet the age requirement. Please plan accordingly as no exceptions will be made for those without proper ID.

  • Cancellations MUST be made at least 72 hours prior to your tour's departure time to receive a refund. NO EXCEPTIONS!

  • All brewery tour itineraries are subject to change based on daily brewery schedules and availability.

  • All brewery tours will be held rain or shine, so please check the local weather forecast and be prepared for mother nature.

  • The walking distance on both brewery tours is less than 0.5 miles.

  • All breweries are wheelchair friendly and accessible.

  • Kids are welcome to accompany adults. However, if at any point during the tour, your child is not enjoying themselves and affecting the enjoyment of others on the tour, we ask that you please take them away from the group. There is no charge for small children on the tour.

  • Dogs on the tour. Many of the breweries have dog-friendly areas, mostly outside. If we're inside sampling beer, your dog would have to remain outside. Our advice is that you leave your dog at home...that is the easiest thing for both you and your dog.

  • All brewery tour tasting samples are included in the ticket price. Additional beer or merchandise purchases at the breweries are available at your own expense.

  • In the event of unforeseen circumstances such as a natural disaster, Beer Treks, LLC reserves the right to cancel any brewery tour. Those with reservations for the canceled tour will be rescheduled or refunded.
